Our Core Human Rights Pillars

1. Environmental Justice & the Right to a Healthy Environment

Every individual has the fundamental right to a clean, safe, and sustainable environment.

Equitable Resource Access: We champion equitable access to land, clean water, and natural resources, opposing practices that exploit vulnerable rural and urban communities.

Climate Equity: We advocate for climate justice, ensuring that communities bearing the brunt of ecological shifts are given a voice and active representation in local and international climate policy platforms.

2. Women’s and Youth Empowerment & Inclusion

True development cannot happen without inclusive participation and gender equality.

Inclusive Leadership: We actively create platforms for women and youth to lead community decisions, drive local enterprises, and take part in multi-stakeholder governance.

Economic Rights: By fostering green livelihoods, decentralized waste management enterprises, and agroforestry training, we protect the economic rights of vulnerable groups, ensuring fair opportunities and self-reliance.

3. Civic Education & Public Participation

Empowered communities begin with informed citizens who understand their rights and civic responsibilities.

Grassroots Advocacy: We conduct community dialogues and civic awareness initiatives that bridge local realities with national and international policy frameworks.

Inclusive Governance: We advocate for transparent, accountable local governance where community members can freely participate in decision-making processes that affect their livelihoods and environment.

Our Approach: The Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA)

PTI applies a rights-based framework to all our community-led interventions. We focus on:

Participation: Ensuring that those most affected by poverty and environmental shocks are at the center of project design and execution.

Accountability: Holding duty-bearers responsible for protecting community welfare, public health, and environmental safety standards.

Empowerment: Building internal community agency—power within, power to, and power with—to dismantle structural barriers and foster long-term resilience.
